I love essence beauty products and their nail polish collection is really huge and variety of shades to choose from. Essence is a budget friendly brand and the quality of their products is just amazing. Today I am going to review Essence The Gel Nail Polish products on my blog. I have been sent very kindly Essence The Gel Nail Polish in 4 Ever Young 11(£1.60), The Gel Nail Polish Base Coat(£2.50) and Top Coat(£2.50). What started with a lamp it is past, now it is just a simple base and top coat without lamp! But will it sit just as well? This special nail polish formula provides nails with an incredibly long-lasting manicure and an amazing gel shine. The innovative colour technology offers intensive colour and perfect coverage, giving you an incredible finish. I have tested this combination for a week now.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish Base Coat and Top Coat is a revolution in nails! It gives a look that’s easy like nail polish, amazing like gel! The innovative base coat and top coat formula improves the durability of the gel nail polish by up to 60 percent! The nails are given an extreme, long-lasting gel-shine finish without the need for an LED or UV lamp. Let’s start with how to apply them. First apply gel nail polish base coat on your nails and let it dry completely. The consistency of the base coat is slightly thicker than normal and it takes some time to dry out completely and it gives matte like finish to your nails. After base coat I have applied 2 coats of Essence The Gel Nail Polish in 4 Ever Young 11. This is simple but beautiful pink/red colour and it is great for spring and summer. It dries quickly and you don’t have to wait longer in between 2 coats. The brush is very handy and glides evenly on nails. Once your nail polish is completely dry apply thin layer of top coat. The consistency is optimal. Neither too thin nor too thick. Base coat and top coat are easy to apply. Once you apply top coat on your nails, it adds lovely gloss to your nails. Even pink gel nail polish has its own very good shine but adding thin layer of top coat seals your nail polish and prevents chipping on nails for more days.

So now let’s see how long the nail polish really have stayed down. On third day I had two chips on my right hand nails as I do my all work cleaning, cooking, etc… with right hand but left hand nail polish was still there and no chipping on nails. Then on fourth day my left hand nail tips looked a little worn but they were not looking so bad and still my nails were glossy like the first day. On fifth day I removed my nail polish from both hands as right side nail polish chipped like crazy and was not looking good. According to me 4-5 days wear is really good. If you are not doing any home work then I think it will last longer 😉

I was very excited to try Gel Lacquer of essence. Mainly because you do not need LED lamp for the application. The paint lasts quite longer and has a nice gel-look finish with a beautiful shine. I am already looking forward to the other shades and am definitely going to try one or the other color.
