Today I am going to review few Essence Cosmetics lip products which I have been sent very kindly to review on my blog. I have been sent two lipsticks (04 and 53) and one lipgloss (Soft Nude). Essence is a budget friendly and one of my favourite beauty brand. They always come up with new products every other months.
Essence Lipsticks 53 All About Cupcake and 04 On The Catwalk – £2.30
The packaging of these lipsticks feels pretty sturdy. Essence 53 All About Cupcake comes in a tube the same colour as the lipstick inside which really helps to locate a particular shade. Essence 04 On The Catwalk comes in a black matte packaging with a berry red colour line around. The bullet of lipsticks looks very fancy with engraved “e” on it.
Essence 53 All About Cupcake is a beautiful neutral everyday peachy pink shade. It is quite sheer shade and have sweet scent to it but not overpowering. It stays for some time when you apply the lipstick and fades away afterwards. Essence 04 On The Catwalk is berry red shade and I am loving it so much. It brightens up my face. This berry red shade goes well with daytime light makeup and evening time smokey makeup. The texture of these lipsticks soft, smooth and lightweight. It feels wonderful on lips. Both the lipsticks give opaque coverage. You can build up the colour by adding few more layers on lips. They does not dry out my lips. They are so creamy and moisturising. The colour payoff is very good. The lasting power for both the lipsticks is 2-3 hours so you have to reapply regularly after eating or drinking. There are beautiful shades available in this range and they are very reasonably priced. It is an affordable way to experiment with different colours.
Overall both the lipsticks are very moisturising and keep lips well hydrated as long as they are on lips, there is no need to apply lip balm underneath. Both the lipsticks give glossy finish to the lips.
Essence’s XXXL longlasting lipgloss matt effect in Soft Nude – £2.30
Essence’s XXXL longlasting lipgloss in Soft Nude comes in glossy and matte finishes and I have tried three shades from glossy range and also reviewed them on my blog. This lipgloss comes in long sleek transparent container. The applicator is flat, long and soft. When you open up this lipgloss very first thing you will notice is scent! It smells like vanilla. The scent fades away afterwards. It is lovely dark beige on pink side lipgloss. The lipgloss has matte finishing touch and it is not sticky at all. The pigmentation is really good. I have tried some matte lipglosses and they feel dry on lips but last for very long time on lips. Essence’s XXXL longlasting lipgloss matt effect in Soft Nude does not feel dry on lips but staying power is like 2-3 hours. This gorgeous nude goes with everything. From the swatch you can see the finish is not fully matte, there is bit shine on lips. This lipgloss is really moisturising compare to other matte lipglosses I have tried.
