Today I am going to review Bio-Oil that I have been sent very kindly to try and review on my blog. I have not tried this product before even I have not tried any other facial oils for my skin. So this was whole new experience for me. But I have to admit I am impressed by Bio-Oil and one more product from Manuka Doctor facial oil that I will review later on my blog.
Bio‑Oil is a specialist skin care oil that helps improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. It is also effective for ageing and dehydrated skin. Bio‑Oil has won 224 skin care awards and has become the No.1 selling scar and stretch mark product in 18 countries since its global launch in 2002.
Bio-Oil comes in a plastic bottle, it holds 60ml of the product and packaging is very simple. The colour of the oil looks orange from outside but it doesn’t quite pour out orange though. It looks almost clear on skin. The texture is quite runny but not sticky at all and feels very soft on my skin. I also love the scent of this oil it is kind of mild flowery smell. I know some people does not like scented products or they are sensitive to scents.
Let me first tell you about my skin type, I have combination skin, sometimes it is bit oily and sometimes it is dry so I always look for skin care products that work best for my combination skin. My skin is bit sensitive too, whenever I try new products I first do patch test to make sure it is not going to cause any problem for my skin. As I said in one of my earlier post that after taking shower my face skin gets bit red and I see small red bumps on my face but they go away after few minutes. So I thought Bio-Oil might help me with this problem but sadly no as it does not claim to do so!
I am using Bio-Oil after shower daily in the morning as my skin mostly feels bit dry after shower. You just need 3-4 drops of this oil to cover your entire face. The formula of this oil is non-sticky and thin. My skin absorbs it very fast after application. Bio-Oil keeps my skin moisturized throughout the day for me as day passes my skin gets bit oily but still my skin does not feel sticky or glossy at all. If your skin is too dry then you might have to reapply oil after 5-6 hours? I have also used Bio-Oil for moisturizing dry skin on my body and it has worked there too. I don’t have stretch marks so I cannot comment on that.
I am very impressed with Bio-Oil, as it is such a hassle-free way to add moisture back into your skin, after using it I find my skin is left glowing and healthy looking. This is a product I would definitely recommend as an effective moisturizer. Bio-Oil is affordable and available at Boots for only £8.99 for 60ml. I also saw it in Primark for £7.99 for 125ml bottle and I grabbed one for me as it was good deal.
Have you tried Bio-Oil? Have you got the best results with Bio-Oil? Please share your thoughts in comment, I would love to know.
